Product Development/Quality Function Deployment/Voice of the Customer

  • Facilitated product development customer focus groups for Johnson & Johnson.  Conducted focus groups in Brussels, New Delhi, Chennai, Sydney and Miami for technical inputs to a coronary stent device.
  • Conducted focus group and facilitated two teams for Windsor Industries in the development of commercial carpet cleaning devices.
  • After the cancellation of the Crusader project, defined technical descriptors for the next generation of howitzer cannons to meet the new requirements for advanced field artillery systems.
  • Conducted customer focus group and QFD sessions for Biosense Webster (Johnson & Johnson) in the development of their next generation heart catheter.
  • Facilitated a QFD project for GambroBCT to determine customer needs and product specifications for a new generation of blood collection devices.
  • Coordinated, conducted and facilitated extensive customer focus groups for Du Pont Medical packaging in their quest to improve Tyvek® and customer service. 
  • Conducted QFD sessions with Du Pont engineers to determine areas for improvement.
  • Facilitated Voice of the Customer sessions for General Electric.
  • Working with NASA, Texas A&M, and the Center for Commercialization of Space, determined the Voice of the Customer and the technical specifications for conducting experiments in space the first flight of the International Space Station.
  • Taught QFD courses to the engineering faculty and graduate students at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
  • Facilitated numerous QFD sessions for numerous organizations including Johnson & Johnson, Windsor Industries, Baxa Medical, American Express, Earth Grains and numerous divisions of Emerson Electric Company.
  • Facilitated and designed creativity and technology forecasting sessions for Johnson & Johnson Medical at the concept stages of product development.
  • Using QFD facilitated, trained and consulted to Johnson & Johnson Medical in the reconstruction of product specifications and defect classification for an existing product line of catheter devices and several breakthrough technology products.
  • Taught engineers at Clorox, Quality Function Deployment, Hoshin Kanri and Voice of the Customer techniques to improve their current product development methodologies.

Strategic Planning/Organization Development

  • Adjunct faculty member at Regis University teaching courses for the American Society for Training and Development on organizational performance evaluation/assessment and organizational improvement strategies.
  • Process mapped the entire supply chain for three divisions of Cordis (Johnson & Johnson).
  • Conducted executive Hoshin Planning (strategic planning) sessions three divisions of Exabyte, a 50M tape back-up manufacturing organization located in Boulder, Colorado.
  • Created and conducted leadership evaluations and training for upper and middle management employees at Exabyte.
  • Consulted to the Department of Transportation in the implementation of the National Performance Review, a quality initiative mandated to all Federal agencies. Facilitated strategic planning and team facilitation.
  • Customized team building/development training for high-potential employees at McDonnell Douglas and Exabyte.
  • Supported and facilitated high-profile quality teams for Johnson & Johnson Medical focusing on improving their existing New Product Development process.
  • Designed and facilitated missioning, visioning and strategic planning sessions for all divisions chiefs within the Department of the Interior.
  • Analyzed the Colorado division of Roche Chemicals to propose and execute a team development and executive coaching program with top management.
  • Created and facilitated team building sessions with top level executives for Amgen, the world's largest biomedical company.
  • Designed an implementation strategy and training to deploy a Malcolm Baldrige "type" evaluation model for a division of Johnson & Johnson.
  • Designed and facilitated numerous adventure learning sessions for various clients.
  • Conducted team building with top design engineers at Segway Incorporated.

Training/Instructional Design

  • Coached internal consultants in instructional techniques to deliver customized IMPACTure training.
  • Designed and conducted a five-day quality systems auditor training program for Emerson Electric.
  • Trained over 150 auditors in the International Quality Rating System which is a combination of the Malcolm Baldrige, Ford Q-101, ISO, and the International Quality Rating system.
  • This program included advanced auditing techniques. Designed and wrote an intensive customer service training program for a high-tech division of Emerson Electric.
  • Provided public workshops on Neuro-Linguistic Programming for the American Society for Quality.
  • Trained quality systems auditors and high-potential employees at McDonnell Douglas in Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
  • Taught Six Sigma Master Black Belts at Johnson & Johnson Medical Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques.
  • Working for Finova Financial Corporation, trained Human Resources professionals from around the country in relationship skills.
